Tim Mahoney

Mr. Mahoney began his career in the insurance defense arena at a regional defense firm headquartered in Chicago where he primarily represented defendants in product liability matters, construction site accidents, premises liability cases and motor vehicle accidents. He subsequently joined a large general practice firm where he primarily represented defendants in product liability matters, professional liability cases, construction accidents, and insurers in coverage related disputes. Immediately prior to joining Flaherty & Youngerman, PC in 2012, he spent several years litigating nationwide cases arising in Civil RICO, consumer fraud and antitrust. Mr. Mahoney's practice at Flaherty & Youngerman concentrates in legal malpractice and general insurance defense.

Mr. Mahoney is a member of the Illinois Bar and the Federal Trial Bar of the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois. He is admitted in the Northern, Central and Southern Districts of Illinois and is admitted to practice before the United States Courts of Appeal for the Third, Seventh and Ninth Circuits. He has also been admitted pro hac vice when handling cases in several other United States jurisdictions. He received a B.A. in philosophy from Loyola University of Chicago, a J.D. from IIT-Chicago Kent College of Law, and an MBA with a concentration in finance from Case Western Reserve University's Weatherhead School of Management.
